The Sons of Abu al-Said al-Mukhtar Sweets Shop is one of the most famous sweet shops in Nazareth, offering a wide variety of Eastern and Western sweets that combine authenticity and modernity. The shop, located on Paul VI Street, is a favorite destination for sweet lovers, locals and visitors alike.
How did the name Al-Mukhtar originate?
The name Al-Mukhtar was passed down from grandfather Musa, the Mukhtar of the eastern neighborhood of Nazareth, and then passed down to grandfather Mukhtar Saleh Musa Awda. In the 1960s, Hajj Lutfi Saleh Awda, the Mukhtar, and his brothers began making sweets after learning the craft from experts in the region.
In 1968, the story of Al-Mukhtar Sweets began in the first branch in Nazareth.
In 1991, the second store opened on Paul VI Street, which continues to this day. It was renewed under the name "Abu Al-Saeed Al-Mukhtar Sons."
A day after the experience gained by the sons of Hajj, they continued their journey at the "Abu Al-Saeed Al-Mukhtar Sons" sweets shop. The shop features the finest oriental sweets made from carefully selected, high-quality ingredients—from flour, sugar, nuts, and even country butter—to craft the most delicious sweets and present them to you, brimming with expertise from our ancestors to our grandchildren.
